In the Time section, a selection of dramatic gold watches embodies dreams and desires. Taking the issue’s theme even further, five rising local talents in different fields, as well as 19 of the most ambitious, aspirational creations ever made – ranging from a 2,500-piece limited edition art box to a $100 million superyacht – were curated by the MF team to anchor the Features section. And where cutting edge style is concerned, the expressive artist ensembles of Fall/Winter 2016 take centrestage in this issue’s key fashion spread.       

Lance Lim, editor of MF, introduces our cover star for the month: “Being the first Asian to front a Louis Vuitton campaign, Godfrey Gao has worked his way from a model to an emerging actor, evolving from a drama idol to a Hollywood up-and-comer. Decked out in Zegna Couture in our cover story, the Taiwanese-born Canadian muses that he has to remind himself not to be complacent.”
